Mary Creagh MP joined staff from Citizen Housing, local volunteers, and residents for their latest Tidy Friday event in Willenhall.
Tidy Fridays are led by Citizen and held in different neighbourhoods across the city. The Willenhall events are part of a year-long project to make the area more welcoming and improve the local environment for the people who live there.
Mary spent the morning alongside volunteers: litter picking, clearing fly-tipped waste, tidying communal gardens, and repainting fences and benches around Mary Slessor Street. Mary also spoke with residents about preventing local issues, such as fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour, and will continue to raise these with the relevant authorities.
Mary Creagh, MP for Coventry East, said:
“Tidy Fridays show what can happen when housing providers, the council, and residents pull together. I’m grateful to everyone who gave up their morning to make Willenhall a cleaner, more welcoming place to live, and I’d like to thank Citizen for organising it.”
Residents can report fly-tipping online through the Coventry City Council Report It Portal, or directly through the Coventry City Council Fly-tipping Form.
