Mary Creagh announces fantastic news of dentist access across Coventry
Mary Creagh, Member of Parliament for Coventry East, has welcomed new figures that show a significant increase in NHS dental treatment in Coventry and Warwickshire last year.
More than 680,000 courses of NHS dental treatment were delivered in the area in the year 2025/26 - an increase of around 14,000 on the previous year’s figures. More than 363,000 adults accessed NHS dental services in Coventry and Warwickshire over the two years to March 2026, alongside a rise in the number of dentists undertaking NHS work.
The latest GP Patient Survey results confirm that Coventry and Warwickshire remains the highest-ranked area in the country for residents being able to get an NHS dental appointment.
Despite this progress, demand for NHS dental care remains high, and access can still be difficult for some residents. The local NHS Integrated Care Board is continuing to work with dental providers to improve access and capacity across the area.
Mary Creagh MP said:
"This is fantastic news for families across Coventry and the region. Too many people struggled to get a dentist appointment under the last government. Labour is reversing that trend across Coventry and Warwickshire. I am proud to see our region leading the country on access to NHS dental care.
Our Labour government delivering for the NHS. We promised to get dentistry back on its feet, and these figures show real progress. There are more courses of treatment, more dentists doing NHS work, and more people able to see a dentist when they need to.
I'll keep working with local providers to make sure that progress continues, but today's figures are proof that Labour's plan for the NHS is working for people in Coventry."
